Everton chase Atletico's Reyes

Jose Antonio Reyes

David Moyes' Toffees are ready to put a bid in for Atletico Madrid winger Jose Antonio Reyes.

Reyes who was once considered as one of the best Spanish talents in his time at Sevilla had a good spell at Arsenal under the tutelage of Arsene Wenger but has seen his career go southwards since returning to Spain.

He spent last season out on loan to Portuguese side Benfica but has not impressed them enough to offer him a permanent slot.

Atletico are reportedly keen to sell him and several clubs have already signalled their interest.

Roma, AC Milan and Fiorentina are the three main clubs eyeing the speedy winger but Everton have joined the queue to sign Reyes.

The Sunday Mirror reported that Moyes is ready to offer Steven Pienaar as part of the deal which could see them leapfrog the other suitors and secure the Spaniard's signature.

Reyes won a Premier League title and the FA Cup in his time as a Gunner.
