AC Milan ready to move on

Milan have just sold Kaka, and the €68m from the deal will go immediately into player purchases.

The Italian media are speculating that Milan will go after Wolfsburg striker Edin Dzeko, who is worth approximately €20 million.

Injury-prone Marco Borriello could make way for the Bosnian hitman, who's just won the Bundesliga golden boot.

The Rossoneri are also looking at another prospect from Brazil, a 24-year-ol midfielder by the name of Hernanes, but his transfer is subject to Andrea Pirlo's extension with with club.

Milan are looking into bolstering their defence as well after the loss of veteran campaigner Paolo Maldini. Roma defender Philippe Mexes is on top of the list of possible replacements, with Alex Silva of Hamburg a personal favourite of new Milan coach Leonardo.

The Rossoneri are keen to rebuild without having to spend too much of their funds, as they are keen on keeping most of the money from the Kaka sale.

However, if they are able to bring in all their transfer targets, they will be able to strengthen the team by leaps and bounds with the sale of one player, just like Juventus did in 2001 with Zinedine Zidane's sale to Real Madrid
