Frey in, Valdes out?

Espanyol v Barcelona - La Liga

Barcelona are scouting for a new goalkeeper next season, and Fiorentina's Sebastian Frey is the main target.

With contract negotiations with current stopper Victor Valdes stalling, the Spaniard's future at Camp Nou has been thrown in doubt.

Sky Italia have reported that if the Catalans are going to replace Valdes, they are looking to Frey for his proven experience.

The league champions are willing to dish out big money for Frey and use defender Rafael Marquez to sweeten the deal. The Frenchman's price is tagged in the region of €15-20 million.

The Fiorentina man who has made more than seventy appearances with the club since he officially joined them in 2006, still has four years left on his contract.

Guaranteed Champions League football action could sway the towering 29-year-old to the Barca camp.

Still, like all transfer rumours, only time will tell.
