Barcelona forward Eidur Gudjohnsen could make a move to Aston Villa, according to published reports.
The Icelandic international's fee is believed to be in the region of €3.5 million; small change compared to the lucrative profit Aston Villa manager Martin O'Neill made from the sale of Gareth Barry.
The 30-year-old's return to the Premier League will be hailed by many, with the striker winning many admirers during his time in England with Chelsea.
Gudjohnsen has made 72 appearances and scored four goals for Barcelona since joining in 2006.
The summer spending at Villa will not end with the purchase of the Barca foward, as the club have been linked with Tottenham Hotspur's David Bentley and Standard Liege player Steven Defour.
