Javier Mascherano is said to be over the moon with the prospect of Real Madrid and Barcelona vying for his services.
Mascherano has been linked to a transfer out of England after reports claimed that his wife has failed to make a smooth transition to living in the UK.
Liverpool boss Rafael Benitez wants to retain his prized midfield enforcer, but he will reluctantly let Mascherano leave if a bid of €35m to €46m is put forward.
The Argentine international was happy to hear of interest from Spain, but said that he would rather move to the Nou Camp than to the Bernabeu.
"I am very proud and thankful for the interest from Barcelona and Real Madrid. It's good for me to have these two teams are interested in me," Mascherano told Don Balon.
"Both teams are very important, but at this moment I think that Barcelona is a little bit better and that's why they've won all that they have."
