Julio Baptista to Ath.Madrid

Roma striker Julio Baptista could be heading towards a summer move to Spanish side Atletico Madrid, according to AS.

The Spanish paper reports the Rojiblancos are keen to land the Brazilian ace who has not had the best of seasons at the Olimpico. Baptista joined Luciano Spalletti's men last year from Atleti's bitter rivals Real Madrid, and he could be heading back to the Spanish capital.

It is said Roma want around €12 million for the hitman, which is more or less the money they paid Real. Atleti are keeping their eyes on the striker. Baptista has not impressed in Rome during his time there due to injuries and a poor run of form.

AS claims the Spanish side are ready to stretch and offer the striker a €2m per season deal. In addition, voices in Italy claim there could be major changes at Roma if powerful businessman Vinicio Fioranelli takes over the club.
