Reyes in limbo at Atletico
Jose Antonio Reyes, who played at the pinnacle of European football just a couple of years ago, is now struggling to find an employer.
Reyes, who was plagued by injury and poor form last season, could be left without a club after his co-owners Atletico Madrid and Benfica are yet to agree in terms of his future, while the Spanish media claims he does not feature in either of the two sides' plans.
According to Portuguese paper Correio de Manha, Atletico are keen to sell Reyes to Benfica, who own a portion of his rights, but the two clubs have not agreed on terms.
Moreover, reports also claim that the 25-year old is surplus to requirements at both clubs.
Spanish paper AS has reported that Benfica's new coach Jorge Jesus is not keen on Reyes arriving at his club.
Back in the Spanish capital, Los Colchoneros coach Abel Resino has apparently told his sporting director that the former Spanish international does not figure in his first- team plans either.
The Portuguese outfit currently own 25% of the player's rights with Atletico possessing the remaining 75%, but the Spanish side are hoping to sell him permanently for €6.5 million.
