Bentley to end White Hart Pain

Chelsea v Tottenham Hotspur - Premier LeagueDavid Bentley has revealed that he is negotiating with Aston Villa to put an end to his nightmare at White Hart Lane.

Bentley joined Tottenham from Blackburn for £16 million in the last offseason but has failed to make the grade with the Spurs senior squad.

Bentley, who is currently on vacation in Spain's posh resort of Puerto Banus where he operates a pub called Buddha Beach, confirmed: "I'm in talks with Villa at the moment."

"I really don't want to say much more. But we'll see what happens."

"I'm hopeful of sorting it out as soon as possible."

The right-winger wants his future to be decided as soon as possible, and Spurs are willing to incur a loss by selling him for approximately £7m.

The 24-year-old last started at the end of January in the 3-2 defeat at Bolton.

Bentley lack of first-team football has also seen him dropped from the England senior squad.

The winger and his representative have been in negotiations with Villa Park officials for the last two weeks.
