No offers for Pirlo, claim Milan

Arsenal v AC Milan - UEFA Champions League

AC Milan insist they have not received any offers for Italy midfielder Andrea Pirlo and insist the player is not for sale.

Reports in England had strongly linked the World Cup-winning playmaker with a move to Chelsea this summer where he would play under former Milan coach Carlo Ancelotti.

"We have not received any offers for him (Pirlo)," said AC Milan club administrator Adriano Galliani.

"But if we did, we would return them to the sender. He (Pirlo) will remain at Milan 99.99%."

The Rossoneri are busy trying to lure Bundesliga top scorer Edin Dzeko to the San Siro this summer.

However, Galliani knows the challenge his club face to acquire the 23-year-old Bosnian, with Wolfsburg refusing to negotiate his exit.

"We are fully focused on signing a striker," said Galliani.

"Dzeko is great but Wolfsburg for the time being don't want to sell him but we hope we succeed.

"If we don't, we will try with another player."

Milan were expected to make Porto defender Aly Cissokho their first summer signing this week, only for negotiations between the two clubs to fall through at the last minute.
