Victor Valdes' agent has denied reports that talks with Barcelona over extending the goalkeeper's contract have broken down.The 27-year-old has been in negotiations for several days over a new deal at the Nou Camp, with his current contract set to expire next summer.
Reports in Spain today claim that, with the two parties miles away from each other in terms of salary, Barca have given up in their attempts to keep the Catalan custodian and have turned their attention to Fiorentina goalkeeper Sebastien Frey.
However, Gines Carvajal insists such speculation is premature.
"It's complicated," he told Catalan radio station Rac1. "There are differences, because if there weren't then we would have already renewed.
"Our desire is to continue negotiating.
"On our part, we are not breaking up any talks and Barca have not told me that they are either."
