Ribery prefers Madrid to other options

Final Italy v France - World Cup 2006

According to a report emanating from France, Franck Ribery would ideally like to join los Blancos next season.

The Bayern Munich star has claimed Madrid would be his first choice club this summer, according to a report from French radio station RMC.

If the report is true, Florentino Perez could be on his way to completing a sensational hat-trick of transfers, after breaking the bank already to secure the services of Kaka and Cristiano Ronaldo.

Madrid's presidential advisor and France legend Zinedine Zidane has made no effort to hide his admiration for Ribery, publicly stating he would like his former international teammate to move to the Bernabeu.

Ribery, 26, has been holidaying in Spain and reportedly took the decision to move to los Merengues during his break.

Barcelona and Chelsea have both also been heavily linked with the French star, but the fact that he considers Zidane a ‘mentor' may convince him to move to the Spanish capital.
