Van wants to play alongside Kaka

Real Madrid v Osasuna - La Liga

Rafael van der Vaart is keeping an open mind about his future at Real Madrid, but hopes to be part of their new-look side.

The Spanish giants have embarked on a major spending plan in recent days, with Kaka already having made the move to the Bernabeu from AC Milan and Manchester United winger Cristiano Ronaldo set to join him.

The influx of talent leaves the status of some of Madrid's players - including Holland trio Van der Vaart, Wesley Sneijder and Klaas Jan Huntelaar - uncertain.

Former Hamburg star Van der Vaart is hoping the club's new coach, Manuel Pellegrini, will be keen to keep him.

"Pellegrini's previous club Villarreal wanted to buy me twice in the last few years from HSV," Van der Vaart told AD Sportwereld.

"I don't know if it was him who wanted me or his technical director, but it makes you think.
