Spurs bid for Madrid trio

Real Madrid v Liverpool - UEFA Champions LeagueTottenham have put in a 30 million pound bid for Real Madrid trio, Arjen Robben, Gabriel Heinze and Klaas-Jan Huntelaar.

Sportsmail revealed that Spurs chairman, Daniel Levy is in Madrid along with finance director Matthew Collecott to meet Florentino Perez.

Harry Redknapp's priority this season is a winger, striker and left-back.

The White Hart Lane boss has already gone about trying to get hold of another Madrid player, Ruud van Nistelrooy, but the Dutch striker's wage demands are too high for the North London club.

Madrid are eager to recoup some of world record transfer fees paid out for Cristiano Ronaldo and Kaka by selling up to nine of their players.

Reports have been stating that the Spanish giants are circulating a list of nine players who are surplus to requirements at the Bernabau and hoping to lure English clubs in for them.

It remains to be seen if 30 million pounds is enough to take the trio to England but all Robben and Huntelaar might be keen to leave Madrid as their places in the team has been threatened by the arrival of the two record-breaking stars.

All will be revealed in the coming days.
