Roma's owners deny sale agreement

Roma FansRoma's parent company Italpetroli have denied reports they have agreed a deal to sell their shares in the Serie A club.

The Italian media have suggested the Sensi family will make an official announcement on Monday that they have sold their 67% stake in Roma to a Swiss-German conglomerate headed by Vinicio Fioranelli for around 200 million euros.

However, the family's company, who admitted yesterday they were investigating the offer, released a statement this afternoon insisting no deal is in place.

"In reference to what has been reported today and last night by some media about reaching an agreement regarding the purchase of the controlling share packet at Roma, Italpetroli, as indirect controller, stresses that no agreement has been signed, of any sort, regarding the share packet in question, nor do conditions and requirements exist at the moment to suggest that any type of transaction could be finalised next Monday, June 22."
